If you would like to save a sequence or a gene from the genome browser back into your “My Files” library, start by finding the gene of interest. Once located click on the gene name, the gene information box will open, at the bottom right of the box select the “Save sequence” button.

This will open the “Save sequence” modal box where you can choose to: add additional flanking sequences on the 5’ and 3’ ends, reverse complement the sequence and automatically number exons. Once satisfied with the selection select “Save”. You will then be prompted to name the file, by default the genome and gene name are pre-filled. After selecting a name select a location to save the file, then select “Save into My Files” to save the sequence and perform the modifications.

Once saved the file will automatically open, if you have chosen to label the exons you will see the exons labelled. The label is in the form a feature for the entire gene and segments for the exons. To view the details simply double click on the feature label.
