Features and Open Reading Frames (ORFs)
“Can I create features from ORFs?” “Which features will display amino acid translations?”
Toggle on the ORF Display
If you wish to create features based on ORFs you first need to toggle on the ORF display. To do this navigate to the “Features” tab in the top banner and select “Display ORFs” you will see all ORFs displayed and the corresponding amino acid translations.
Creating a Feature from an ORF
Start by selecting an ORF, to do this click the line of the desired ORF which is displayed above the nucleic acid sequence. Once clicked, the entire ORF will be selected. Then navigate to the “Features” tab and select the “Feature from ORF” button on the right side. This will open the “Add feature” modal box where you can fill in the details of the feature.
CDS Features and ORFs
Features that have a feature type of CDS (coding sequence), will display the amino acid translations when the amino acid translations button (“View” > “Translations”) is toggled on.
This still hasn’t been implemented update this once Phillippe has implemented it!!!
